A Much Appreciated Correction and Duke Keychains!

I was very nicely corrected by a prospective customer that uterine cancer ribbon was peach instead of the color I had listed. One of the problems I encountered when setting up the Keychains site was the amount of conflicting information out there and I'm thrilled the woman thought enough to correct me. How Have We Done?

I was asked yesterday how many keychains we've sold over all since we started. It was a good question! We started taking orders in July of this year and since then, we've sold 166 keychains to date.

The response has been wonderful and we're still going strong. The holidays are just around the corner and we're a great one-stop shopping experience for those small gifts you need to buy, but don't want to spend a lot.

Florida Gators Keychain

A customer asked me the other day if my own, personal dislike of the Florida Gators was greater than my love for relay.

No, no it is not, so here, my friends, are the new Florida Gators keychains that are available.

I got in a special order for several keychains representing a certain NFL team's colors if and only if, I could make them to where they'd be recognizeable. I made up a sample to show them, but wanted to get feed back first to see if I had hit the mark.

Progress Report on a Large Order II

More progress was made this evening on our large order. There are five more to add to this picture that I sewed down while the camera was downloading to the computer. That makes a total of 23 keychains made today!
The order is almost complete and should be by tomorrow evening - Friday at the latest.

We were lucky enough this last weekend to receive our largest order ever of 60 keychains for a woman's youth group and general Christmas gifts. This is also going to be the first time an order doesn't ship out the very next day, but I'm sure it's understandable. ;)

Today is the first day I'm working on them and have gotten 15 done so far with an additional 6 more to do before I call it a night. Thank you so much for supporting our Relay for Life team. University of Georgia (UGA) key chains... Again!

I've spent all season looking for UGA ribbon and sure enough, I found it today!

Here are our two newest designs for University of Georgia Bulldog fans:
This one has stripes and a black 'super G' and at the loop there is a red bulldog square also. This fits the thick 1.25 inch cotton webbing.

This one is red and black blocked sections lined with the 'super G' logo. It's on the thinner 1 inch nylon webbing.

I hope you'll like them as much as I do! There were only a few rolls of ribbon available, so get them while you can!

In the next weeks you'll see Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Georgia Tech, USC, and Illinios ribbons for keychains on the website. I'll post them as available as soon as I can.

Where it all Began

Enough can't be said......GO FALCONS!!!!! I've been a Dacula Falcon for over 12 years now and I couldn't imagine a better school in which to teach (notice I didn't end that sentence with a preposition!). This keychain was made by request from a teacher and she went a step further and put her 100th anniversary pin on it. Yes, Dacula schools celebrated their 100th anniversary last year. Many schools can celebrate their first year, but not many their 100th. The blue and gold remains a statement significant of our dedication, our loyalty and our perserverence that cannot be matched.

Congratulations, Dacula, and may the Falcons soar above all else.

A Wonderful Gift!

A long time friend, but sadly, one we see far too infrequently, has done an amazing thing for Keychains for a Cause. She had some left over ribbon from craft projects that she offered to send me. I was thrilled. I received the package today and was just overwhelmed by her kindness, for not only was there the bag of random lengths of ribbon,


but laying on top of that bag were oodles and oodles of full spools of ribbon.
Some designs I've been drooling over for ages and just never have bought. I especially love both the brown and black giraffe patterns. What makes everything infinitely more wonderful was in the bag of ribbon was the dark, dark blue ribbon I had been needing to complete the Auburn keychain order I got in this weekend.

Something told me not to go out to buy that ribbon! Thank you, Suzanna. You've done a wonderful thing and we'll most certainly put the ribbon to fantastic use. I'll try to get some of it on the website as soon as possible, knowing that it will never all fit on there. It's that fantastic.

Addressing a Concern on Crosses

I've had a few emails addressing concerns on designs with crosses given that the ribbon, when sewn in one piece, makes the crosses on half of the keychain appear upside down. There's a solution for that!

Each keychain with a design that could appear upside down when looped around the wristlet will be cut and resown like in the picture below (my finger is over the seam) so that the crosses or other design will not appear upside down.

A Milestone for Keychains for a Cause!

We set a milestone today at Keychains for a Cause! We had the most orders placed in one day than we've ever had before. A total of 13 keychains were sold today and we thank you so much for helping us support our relay for life team.

Transitional Cell Cancer - Kidney to Bladder - Awareness

One of my dear girlfriends lost her father this last weekend. He was a dear man and always so genuine. He'll be missed by family and friends alike. He suffered from Transitional Cell cancer which began in his kidneys (green) and traveled to his bladder (yellow). These keychains will be in support of his family and in honor of him.
